Our children are our future.
This October, we’re showing up for the educators who show up for our kids every single day.
RoqN has always been about more than movement. We believe strong communities are built when we take care of one another and some of the incredible people moving beside us in the studio spend their days teaching, encouraging, guiding, and caring for children right here in our community.
Throughout the month of October, we’re inviting our RoqN community to help us support local educators and their students.
We asked educators within our own community to share the things their classrooms need most from everyday supplies and sensory tools to flexible seating, snacks, classroom rewards and special learning experiences.
Choose an educator below, browse their needs, and give in whatever way feels right to you.
No contribution is too small.

1st Grade | South Colby Elementary
Ericka has taught in our local district for 13 years and today she teaches at the very same elementary school she attended as a child!
“I grew up in Port Orchard and love making an impact on our small community.”
She's also a mom of three, with two of her own kiddos already joining her at school and her youngest not far behind.
🍎 Pencil sharpener
🍎 Whiteboards
🍎 Organization bins

2nd Grade | South Colby Elementary
Ruby teaches second grade at South Colby Elementary and is so grateful for the opportunity to have our community support her classroom and students.
For Ruby, these contributions are more than just classroom supplies - they help create a comfortable, engaging environment where her second graders can learn, move, explore and grow.
She shared that our community's generosity and support truly make a difference in her classroom.
🍎 Flexible seating — stools, portable desk & floor seating
🍎 Mini animal figurines

4th Grade | Sand Hill Elementary
After teaching kindergarten for four years and first grade for seven, Jaimie is now teaching 4th grade and she says they are simply the most fun age yet!
For Jaimie, teaching goes far beyond academics. Her 9 and 10-year-olds are already experiencing life's ups and downs, and she gets to be there not only to teach them, but to help guide them through those experiences and show them how they can grow from them.
She even says the positivity and lessons she's gained during her RoqN Pilates classes are things she gets to carry with her into the classroom.
🍎 Everyday classroom supplies
🍎 Classroom learning tools & activities
🍎 Replacement flexible seating/stools
Many of these are items Jaimie would otherwise purchase herself to keep her classroom stocked, functional and welcoming for her students.

4th Grade Reading | Sand Hill Elementary
This year marks an incredible milestone for Rachel - her 20th year of teaching!
And after two decades in the classroom, she’s still challenging herself. This year, Rachel is teaching 4th grade in a departmentalized model, focusing specifically on reading.
“Our students are amazing, kind and thoughtful.”
🍎 Fine-tip Expo markers
🍎 Sensory tools & small squishies
🍎 Copy paper & colored paper
🍎 Classroom rewards
🍎 Games & supplies for workshop centers
Some of these everyday classroom essentials are things Rachel regularly purchases herself -from sensory tools to rewards and activities that help keep her students engaged and learning.
As Rachel joked, Expo markers especially have a tendency to “grow legs and walk away!”

5th Grade | Orchard Heights Elementary
Kaylene teaches 5th grade at Orchard Heights Elementary, where she sees firsthand how much the little things can matter in a student's school day.
This October, there are two ways our community can support Kaylene and the 5th graders at Orchard Heights - helping with everyday classroom needs and helping make an unforgettable outdoor education experience accessible to more students.
🍎Snacks are one of Kaylene's biggest ongoing classroom needs. Many students aren't always able to bring a snack of their own, so having a classroom supply ensures there's something available when a student needs it.
Her Wishlist also includes additional items that help support her students throughout the school year.

Each year, Orchard Heights 5th graders have the opportunity to attend a three-day outdoor education camp - an experience that gives students the chance to learn, explore, connect and create memories outside of their everyday classroom.
This year, funding for outdoor education has been reduced, which means some students may need additional financial support in order to attend.
The school is actively fundraising and applying for grants, but every contribution can help make camp more accessible to their 5th-grade students.
If purchasing classroom supplies isn't how you'd like to give, you can also choose to contribute toward 5th Grade Camp.

Go for it!
You can also bring items to the studio for the Educators above & we'll make sure they receive it!
But please know: you don't need to do everything.
Our goal is for a community of people to each do a little and together make a BIG difference.
Teachers and school staff pour so much into our children - not only academically, but through encouragement, connection, patience, guidance and love.
Many also spend their own money making sure their students have what they need.
And many of these educators aren't strangers.
They're part of our RoqN family.
They're the people sweating beside us, taking class after a long school day, cheering on the person next to them and helping make our studio what it is.
This October, it's our turn to cheer them on.
STRONG TEACHERS. STRONG KIDS. STRONG COMMUNITY.
WE'RE ROQN THE CLASSROOM.
RoqN the Classroom is a community giveback organized by RoqN Pilates to support local educators and their classrooms throughout the month of October.
